Yoga according to your needs
Most yoga classes are geared towards the abilities of female participants. When men start practicing yoga, they usually bring with them other sporting experiences and physical requirements.
At the beginning it was something of an internal joke. Since my first yoga group at Yoga Haus Zürich was attended almost exclusively by men, it was soon said: “Frank is doing his men’s yoga there…”.
But over time and after a few conversations with men interested in yoga, the conviction that yoga for men in Zurich is not a bad idea at all became more solid. Men are usually less flexible, but generally have more strength. In men’s yoga we focus more on the corresponding possibilities and needs.
Since most of the people in this group have to deal with similar challenges, it is possible to deal more intensively with the typical masculine requirements in a concentrated but relaxed atmosphere. The asana practice is supplemented by breathing exercises and meditation, concentration and relaxation exercises that improve the way we deal with the challenges of our everyday lives.
